I loved reading this and couldn't wait to purchase the 3rd book the minute I finished this one.""★★★★★ Great books are measured by the sum of times the reader finds themselves having to remember it's just a book. I found myself so in tune with McWilson's story, setting, and characters that I had to snap back to reality several times.""★★★★★ Just got this book yesterday and I can not put it down! It has been several months since I read book 1 but I have been instantly sucked back into the time travel phenomenon of Normal, IL.""★★★★★ As I had eagerly awaited TRADECRAFT, I wondered if this new book could hold the same level of my attention as the first in this series. I was pleasantly blown away. Never before have I followed a book series where the sequel was this much better than the original.""★★★★★ This is a compelling sequel to Paradigm Rift. It not only answers the questions left at the end of Book 1 but quickly twists into a complex plot only a master writer could envision. Well done, Sir!"
About the Author I am a science fiction fan and writer from the very heart of the Heartland of America. I grew up in California, and transplanted to the Midwest in 1980. I am a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, receiving my B.A. Degree in Media in 1991. Over the last decade, I have written across a variety of genres, including feature-length screenplays for a Romantic Comedy, Police Thriller, and Action Thriller, and even a Drama-Thriller Television series. My latest offering is the Back to Normal quadrilogy. These titles are Volume I: Paradigm Rift, Volume II: Tradecraft, Volume III: Proximity, and Volume IV: Crossover. This series revolves around a motley crew of involuntary time-jumpers that find themselves mysteriously transported back to post-World War II America, and follows their desperate struggle to find a way back home before the CIA and a KGB assassin can find them. I live in Jackson, Missouri with my wife, Amanda, 3 children, 2 cats, and a lovable puppy who weighs in just shy of 115 pounds.

Amazing By John Brown My review of Back to Normal: TradecraftThe first thing that jumps out at me is the style of writing because it is like putting together a large puzzle, but instead of having a scattered set of puzzle pieces everywhere you have puzzles pieces that only make up small set of pictures that come together to make one larger picture. Now this is unique because there is no way to jump ahead based on what you “think” might happen due to the fact that you are still looking at a smaller picture of a larger puzzle. It was an amazing book reading experience that is so rich with history that would satisfy any history buff and a little bit of conspiracy sprinkled on top. The character development is rich with depth and uniqueness that will appeal to all varieties of readers; the story line will make it hard for you to put the book down as you realize that you are the true time jumper almost peering through small windows of time in order to find out how they relate to one another. After now reading my second Back to Normal book, I have learned as a reader of Randy McWilson's work that there is no room for assumption and the best thing you can do is buckle up and see where time will take you! It's hard for any fiction book to grab my attention, but with the rich storyline, the detailed history, the strong character development, and the amazing plot that will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat ..... this book has me hooked, lined, and sunk! I can't wait for book 3!

On film, I enjoy it quite a lot, but in novels I find even the best writers too removed from the human element.I read Mr. McWilson's first release Paradigm Rift and came away amazed that I actually enjoyed the science as it was clearly a huge part, but it wasn't the emphasis. There were actual characters, and a genuine story that was jumping off the pages. Now on to Tradecraft. The science fiction is still present, but I must say, the character's developed in Tradecraft steal the book. Pun very much intended, but it was like I was transported back in time. What is this? Russia? The CIA? The Cold War? It was like I was visiting my grandmother and combing through her bookshelf looking for something by the great Cold War writer's Graham Greene and Richard Condon. Don't let that sound like a slap, as it is high praise. McWilson has conjured up the spirit of the great espionage novels of the 50's and 60's, something rarely scene in this Era.The story and subplots are complex, compelling, and contagious. It unfolds nicely, and the ending leaves the reader breathless and angry that we must wait for the next installment in the series to fully see the whole picture.I personally cannot stand reviews that are longer than the book being critiqued, so I will end with this. Great books are measured by the sum of times the reader finds themselves having to remember it's just a book. I found myself so in tune with McWilson's story, setting, and characters that I had to snap back to reality several times. It's a great book.Always read something that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it. ~P.J. By Amazon Customer There were several things that I enjoyed about this book. The first thing that sprang to mind was that this book knew you read the first one already. That might sound odd to say, but in most 'sequel' or 'second in the series' books I have read, it takes the first two or three chapters to go back over many of the details you should still remember from reading the first book. ie 'This guy, who we last saw as he stole the thing we needed'. When I encountered a detail that I thought I should know but didn't, I ran back to the first book and started skimming through chapters to try and find reference to it. There was none. Yet it seemed like we should know it. It really brought the concept of the situation to my mind. (avoided spoilers... you will see). The were other things that really made this a 'Cannot put down' read for me.. Spelling was amazing, usually early works by new authors make a few errors that jolt you as your brain goes 'wuh?'. Story hooks. There are some doozies that keep you looking for when the resulting fallout happens. All in all, amazing read. It grabbed my attention, tied it to the bumper and towed me along for the full ride. I could not put it down after starting it. I even completely avoided my computer and spent quality time around the family sitting in the living room so I could continue reading.
