About the Author I love stories. Suspense, mystery, romance, drama, comedy--I love them all. Film or book, give me a good yarn over reality any day. My only requirement is that the characters catch my interest and don't let go. In writing my own stories, it's human nature that intrigues me more than anything. What makes a person do what they do? Say what they say? Why do they try so hard to do the right thing, but sometimes, even with the best intentions, fail terribly? Feisty heroine, Gwendolyn Greyson, is not your average damsel in distress. When a threat is posed to her recently inherited estate (in the shape of handsome knight, Aiden Blakslee) she proves that she has the courage and tenacity that rivals any male counterpart. As unfavorable circumstances force them together, they discover vicious enemies, a well-kept secret, and a star-crossed love that can’t be denied – everything you could want from a historical romance and more!

This author is either British or well versed in the lifestyle and manner of medieval life in England. If not, she has certainly done her homework, saturating herself in a British way of speaking, while painting colorful verbal pictures of castles and moats, maids and maidens and swashbuckling men as well as the beautiful English countryside; almost as though you are watching a dynamic fast paced movie and can't wait till the next scene. The book is very well written using words and manner of speech one would have heard in 12th century England. It's a page turner; you "sort of know" what is going to happen, but have to see whether you've guessed correctly, and when the heroine may realize the bad often turns out for the good!!!

Of Mist and Shadow takes the reader on an exciting adventure in Medieval England that is filled with romance, suspense, and the same humor we loved in Where the Hell is Myra Atkins? If you would like to take a quick vacation from modern day, and lose yourself in a land of dashing knights, dangerous rivalries, and a heroine whose stubbornness and tenacity will capture your heart, this is the book for you!
