About the Author Carolyn Kimmel is a journalist who writes for newspapers and magazines, both in Pennsylvania and nationally. She has also written two books on early missionaries with the Brethren in Christ Church. Carolyn lives in Dillsburg, Pa. with her husband, Mark, and three daughters.

I loved reading this book By Satisfied customer I loved reading this book...an honest portrayal of this practical, hard-working family who highly respected and loved the people they served.The good and not-so-good were well balanced and showed that in great people are the earthy elements that are in us all. Carolyndid a good job in interviewing the local people revealing information that many of us who lived near the doctor did not know. Readingabout Ardys in her depression caused me to wonder how I could have been a better support to her. A lesson to all readers to bemore sensitive to others. I appreciate the honesty of the children and the legacy of service they carry on.
