Aucoin’s new historical adventure novel, Honor Among Thieves is gold! Set in the romantic era of the 17th century, it is a fun mix of exciting and dramatic story-telling, with a hero who possesses all the derring-do and roguish charm you'd expect from a great swashbuckler, with a healthy dose of pathos too. In fact, all of the characters in Honor Among Thieves draw you in. The plot is a great roller-coaster ride, the sword and pistol fights are well-written and choreographed, and like any great storyteller, Aucoin keeps the reader on the edge of their seat right up until the end. Aucoin also does a great job with the setting. You can feel the chill air of a Parisian winter, smell the rotting sewage in the streets and marvel at the excess of the Louvre Palace.Bottom line – if you’re a fan of historical adventure you’ll definitely enjoy Honor Among Thieves. We can only hope that Darion Delerue will ride again.

By Caitlin Bright I've just spent my day off reading Honor Among Thieves, as I just couldn't put it down to do anything else. This was definitely written for the Three Musketeers fan in so many of us. The history felt very accurate, and there were many details thrown in that really made the story come alive. Despite the familiarity of the plot (young man of good family becomes outlaw due to his past), I was really kept on the hook waiting to find out what the motivations of the characters were. It seemed that every character had something about them I wanted to learn more about. And having read a fair amount of this genre, I was thrilled to see how many active and interesting women Aucoin included - some of them I identified with, some I wanted to stay far away from! This is Book 1 of the Hope & Steel series, and I'll be keeping an eye out for the next one.

Mr. Aucoin gets the recipe right. Lots of fun historical detail (without overwhelming the reader with minutiae), terrific action scenes, snappy dialogue,and a great cast of characters!
