7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Lover or Christian Fiction By Linda I love Tracy's books. And this was not a disappointment. However, I do have to say she gets heavy into mystical things sometimes. I am sure this was part of the culture back then. I would have preferred that the Incense Road Trilogy be written as one book. I love series books, but most of them have some ending to each one and can be read as stand alone books. This one does leave you hanging. You have to read the next one and probably the third to find out what happens.

Overall I thought that the book was okay, it was kind of slow and not all that much happened for a lot of the book, but I could tell that it was building towards something. I'm intrigued to see where the story goes even though I didn't enjoy this book as much as I would have liked to, I liked the end and I want to know what happens next.I think this books biggest problem is that there is a lot of information given throughout it which slows the pace and when not all that much is going on it makes it a slow read, but that being said it is a short read and builds to something that I think will be great. This is one story that was broken into three novella. Honestly I think it would have been better as a whole story, breaking it into three parts makes this first one really slow.

Atwood As with all of Tracy Higley's novels, and yes I'm including this novella, it was wonderful. I was glad to meet two characters from her novel The Queen's Handmaid in this novella, and get the story of what had become of them. The adventures of her son are mesmerizing as he looks for a way to cure his mother of illness and finds himself searching for his own destiny. I'm excited to begin the next phase of his journey in Star of Night.
