A great read for history lovers By Marco Sibaja This book brings to life one of the richhest episodes of Central America's history shortly after the regions independence, when the five newly formed nations joined forces to confront ivading forces led by American adventurer William Walker. Invited by one of two warring factions in Nicaragua in the mid-1800's, Walker attempts to take control of all five countries to revive his slavist dream. The hero in this story is then Costa Rican president Juan Rafael Mora, who puts together an army of peasents to expel the foreign invaders, while dealing with a conspiracy to overthrow him from power. A compelling read that will inspire history lovers. One can only hope it will be available in English and perhaps other languages.
