By Crystal L Smith This is the first book I have read by K.J. Jackson. I was unsure at first about the plot of the book but I must say that I was very surprised! I was hooked after the first chapter of trying to figure out how this story was going to unfold and I was not let down! The author kept me interested throughout the entire book with the different events taking place. The chemistry between the Hero and Heroine is wonderfully developed and every conversation between the two leaves you wanting more. Great book by a new author to me. I look forward to reading her other novels!

By Akpride89 This was a great historical romance, I loved Wynne so much, she was just such a beautiful person inside and out and could really bring out the best in people who had led hard lives. It was a wonderfully written book, I never found myself questioning the situation or become confused with what was happening in the story (I hate plot holes in books!) I love how the characters in this book are unique from the other books. I don't feel like I am reading a story that is the same as her other books, so I don't find it predictable which is great! The characters, the villains and the paths they take, are all different from each other!!! I am excited to see what K.J. Jackson has in store for the next one in this new book series!
5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Another fine story from K.J. Jackson By Melissa I have just discovered K.J. Jackson and have downloading her books one after the other. Worth of a Duke is an interesting story with some unexpected happenings. Sometimes these flow well and other times they just seem too jarring. Still I enjoyed this novel.Rowen Lockton the Duke of Letson, finds Wynne in the woods by his estate. She is an oddity for sure, an American who still believes she is in the Appalachian Mountains and not in England. Rowen feels compassion for her and invites her to his ancestral seat. Wynne is suffering from amnesia and he is genuinely concerned for her safety.Rowen is rather new to the title and residing in his home is his Aunt, the Dower Duchess who despises him. She is embittered and the tension between Rowen and her is thick. Wynne enters this conflict and breathes fresh air into the castle. Wynne is an accomplished artist and she paints what she perceives, so her portrait of the Duchess is revealing. Wynne has the ability to reach unreachable people, to draw them out. She accepts people as they are and she loves people deeply.Rowen is quite taken with Wynne but he has his own personal demons. He cares for her and wants to solve the mystery of her past. How did she get to England and where is her family? Rowan has a connection to Wynne and it grows stronger daily even in the midst of uncertainty. This bond is one of the best parts of this story.There are some problems with the characters; they have a tendency to overreact or to react in a contrary manner than their basic personality. Wynne can be incredibly hurtful and Rowen distrusting. These traits were surprising and not in a good way, it did not reconcile with their previous actions.The mystery is on the backburner for many chapters then it becomes front and center, and this was not necessarily a bad thing. It allowed time for the couple to develop their relationship but it does take over too much of the last part of this novel. Overall though Ms. Jackson has written a romantic novel with complex and likable leads who fall madly in love.
