1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A quick read. Well-worth the time. Colorful characters. Imaginative world-building. By SciFiGuy Very much enjoyed this. Did not realize it was a series when I picked it up for 99 cents. I enjoyed the characters. Wish the names were a bit more generic. Totally get that they are saurians, but damn...add some vowels and drop the apostrophes... The main characters are fun. The tech is creative. Plays heavily on the Clarkian law with regard to "sufficiently advanced technology" etc. Would have liked to have seen a different ending (since it talked about the second part of the quest throughout the book) but I get it is a series and that's how you keep people coming back for more. A few pet peeves. The lead character - Christopher - seems to get a lot of "she whispered something into his ear...later he would not recall what it was" going on. Mind you, he doesn't appear to be very attached to any of the witches, but I have no idea which of the many witches competing for his attention mean him the most harm or none at all. None have enough background for me to understand the dynamic between him and them. (surely one of them is not pure evil...just can't tell which). Also, I appreciate foreshadowing as much as the next guy, but the reason I kicked X-Files to the curb was too much foreshadowing and not enough answers. Plenty of set-up in this book. Hoping for some pay-off in the next. But it wouldn't have been the end of the world to have a prologue with a few hints. Time flew by reading it so it held my attention. kudos

Great ideas and interesting plot By Philipp Pfeifer This book, A dark and Angry God, (the first book I read from AA) is a great introduction to the Fantasy world the Author created. With very elaborate characters that are both original and staying true to the nature the Author gave them, it shines in interesting and unexpected plot twists as well as in traditional aspects of the Fantasy gernre. The ideas the Author concerning the characters and the plot seem to fit this futuristc-medival Setting really well. The Connection between the medival theme of witchcraft and the futuristc set of technological advanced weapons and items makes this book different to most other books that simply focus on the past or the future. The creativity of the Author created some really good ideas concerning the world and Setting and led the plot to those interesting Twists I mentioned earlier. Definitely worth reading!I am looking Forward to read more of the Authors books and dig deeper into Christophers and Enki'gus world.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Fantastic!!!!!! By Dennis J. Rooney Fantastic "tease" that sets the tone for AA's next novel. Set in an earlier timeline from the excellent "Slave in the City of Dragons" this novella follows the exploits of a human and his saurian comrades that are tasked with several labors by sensual witches. The story is excellent and the characters well developed and compelling. I especially love the elements of humor that constantly spring up. Great story that blends elements of Edgar Rice Burroughs and dark fantasy with an original style. Highest recommendation!!!!!!!!
