About the Author Dan Davis writes science-fiction, fantasy and historical fiction stories.Dan's main interests outside of fiction are science and history so it's no surprise that his stories tend to blend these elements. He has a passion for prehistory, the ancient history of Greece, Rome, Persia and the cultures all around them as well as medieval Europe. Dan is fascinated by biology and astronomy and all things mechanical.

I could hardly believe as I came close to the end of the book how well the author retained a convincing degree of youthful innocence with the characters' growing ability to face varied and sinister challenges. The reader is never patronised - the youngsters are charmingly distinct from one another, while the schemes of the adults are believable yet mysterious.
