London. The capital of an empire. And, once again, the game is afoot! In this highly thrilling mystery, Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr Watson embark on a mission to find a painting stolen from one of the King’s residences while the Royal Illusionist, Horace Goldin, was performing. While not currently under suspicion, the cheerful foreigner Goldin would like to have the matter resolved as quickly as possible and seeks the duo’s aid. Holmes and Watson travel to Sandringham House disguised as assistants in the illusionist’s act and discreetly investigate the matter. Navigating mysteries and kings, illusions and brutish aides, the duo explore Sandringham House and its grounds, racing against the clock to solve the mystery. Holmes and Watson work to find the truth, but this truth may get Holmes in a bit of trouble… Set against the backdrop of a pre-World War 1 England, ‘Sherlock Holmes and the Sandringham House Mystery’ is a journey that both Holmes and Watson find to be full of twists and turns right until the very end. By meiringen A trip to Sandringham House, this time out, and Holmes, Watson and Lestrade have to find a stolen painting. Just when you think it's all over, "the game's afoot" again, and Holmes faces one of the toughest tests of his life. Enjoyable, and a page-truner, especially towards the end.

Harvey Despite their brevity there is often an element of padding in the Sherlock Holmes novels by Val Andrews ,and this is no exception .There are ,within its less than 200 large print pages ,3 plot strands .It begins with the great detective accepting an assignment from a noted stage magician , Golden , to investigate the theft of a Rembrandt painting from King Edward the Eighth's Summer residence at Sandringham Palace ,the painting having gone missing during a private performance by the conjurer before the King and other distinguished guests including Kaiser Wilhelm .Golden is not suspected of complicity in the theft but is anxious to remove any lingering doubts about his innocence by having the mystery resolved .Disguised as magician's assistants Holmes and Watson accompany him on his next trip to the Palace .They quickly resolve the mystery and restore the painting to its rightful ownwr ; the theft is not entirely unconnected to certain of the distinguished visitors .Soon thereafter Holmes goes missing and we move on to phase 2 of the plot when Watson and Lestrade hunt for the missing Holmes in a race against time .The final part of the book is a neat but wholly superfluous piece of non -criminous deduction from the great man .Andrews has tackled international politics in other books in the series and it rears its head again this time around ,and again as previously the author shows an interest in stage magic.Brisk and enjoyable for what it is this is a passable time-filler

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. too much going on here By Nancy O aargh. If the author would stick to one plot instead of trying to do so much in the short amount of space he has, I'd be grateful. The main plot of this novel was good -- Sherlock Holmes is called upon by a stage magician who had the honor of performing for his majesty King Edward VII at Sandringham House. While there, a theft of a valuable Rembrandt painting occurred, and even though the magician has been cleared of the theft, he worries that his reputation will suffer if word gets out. So he asks Holmes & Watson to help him. The magician has been invited to return to Sandringham House to once again perform, and wants Holmes & Watson to accompany him & investigate the theft. Now that is a good plot, but instead of trying to flesh that out somewhat, we have two other plot lines that muddy what could have been a good story. -sigh-If you're planning on trying this as your first Holmes pastiche, don't. Try some others, then come back around to this one -- it's not as enjoyable as others I've read.

Manga Classics: Emma Softcover (Manga Classics, Jane Austin), by Jane Austen

About the Author One of England s most beloved authors, Jane Austen wrote such classic novels as Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, and Northanger Abbey. Published anonymously during her life, Austen s work was renowned for its realism, humour, and commentary on English social rites and society at the time. Austen s writing was supported by her family, particularly by her brother, Henry, and sister, Cassandra, who is believed to have destroyed, at Austen s request, her personal correspondence after Austen s death in 1817. Austen s authorship was revealed by her nephew in A Memoir of Jane Austen, published in 1869, and the literary value of her work has since been recognized by scholars around the world.Crystal Chan grew up as a mixed-race kid in the middle of the Wisconsin cornfields and has been trying to find her place in the world ever since. She has published articles in several magazines; given talks and workshops across the country; facilitated discussion groups at national conferences; and been a professional storyteller for children and adults alike. In Chicago, where Crystal now lives, you will find her biking along the city streets and talking to her pet turtle. "Bird" is her first novel.

Holds true to the original By Jen I am a huge Jane Austen fan so I was thrilled when I saw Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Emma available as Mangas. It holds true to the original plot, although it can't get everything because it has a lot of pictures and very little text comparatively. The drawings are gorgeous and I loved their vision for what the characters look like. If you're an Austen fan, you'll really appreciate this.

Madero eARC Copy Provided by Publisher via Netgalley in Exchange of Honest and Unbiased ReviewI am an uncultured swine (Pixar’s Toy Story) because I haven’t read a single one of Jane Austen’s books. I have two in physical and the rest in ebook, but I just haven’t gotten myself to it. I struggle most of the time with classics because of how heavy the reading might feel, even if I enjoy the story. Which brings me to this: Manga Classics are a life saver and a wonder of pop culture. This being the second manga I read from Jane Austen’s stories, I loved every moment of it. The drawings were very striking and very manga-like (Japanese drawing style of comics and graphic novels). Many of the settings, clothes, hairstyles, and other minor things were exactly like the ones you see in movies and series of the Regency Era, and lovely for the eye.Since this is an adaptation, there might be things omitted from the original work by Austen, but it keeps the essence of Emma in its characters and turn of events in a language that is simple to grasp. It also leaves space to get the reader interested and involved enough to read the complete, non-illustrated book heh. It also got me interested to watch the movie Clueless by understand that it was a modern tell of Emma (not Pride and Prejudice, as some have told me) and very fun to watch.Everyone’s hard work into the drawings, editing, adaptation of the text, everything was wonderfully made, and I look forward to reading many more of these manga in the future.Rating: 5 starsReview by Jennifer Madero

A great way to reintroduce a classic By Amy @ Books, College, and Other Random Things I received a copy from the publishers via Net Galley.Emma Woodhouse and her father now live alone now that her governess, who she helped set up, has married. She has set her sights on trying to set up her new friend Harriet. Emma is concerned about people’s status, and although the social class Harriet is unknown, Emma is determined to set her up with someone in good standing because she believes that Harriet’s character shows she has a similar background.Mr. Knightley, a friend of Emma’s, encourages a farmer to pursue Harriet, but Emma has other plans in mind. Emma, herself, as vowed never to marry because of her father’s particular way of liking to live. Will Emma’s matchmaking schemes backfire?I have only read a few classics and have never finished one by Jane Austin. When I was about thirteen or so, I tried reading Pride and Prejudice, but I think I wasn’t at a mature enough level to truly enjoy reading a classic. When I was about eighteen, I started to read a small handful of classics and enjoyed them quite a bit.I was so excited when I saw this cover on Net Galley. I love reading manga and thought this would be a good way to reintroduce myself to Jane Austen’s world. I truly loved the artwork, and the artwork is one thing that draws more to manga. I can get really picky about drawings in manga and was not disappointed by the artwork.Mr. Knightley was my favorite character in this book. He is one of the only ones that even tries to reign in Emma. I really didn’t like her at first because of how she viewed people’s standing. She does at least know she has that problem and does apologize once in the book when Mr. Knightley points out what happens.I hope there are plans of doing Jane Eyre because that is my favorite classic that I have read so far. Hopefully, if readers like reading the manga, they will try reading the original.

A memorable coming-of-age story and love story, laced with suspense, which explores a hidden side of the home front during World War II, when German POWs were put to work in a Wisconsin farm community . . . with dark and unexpected consequences.

The war has taken a toll on the Christiansen family. With food rationed and money scarce, Charlotte struggles to keep her family well fed. Her teenage daughter, Kate, raises rabbits to earn money for college and dreams of becoming a writer. Her husband, Thomas, struggles to keep the farm going while their son, and most of the other local men, are fighting in Europe.

When their upcoming cherry harvest is threatened, strong-willed Charlotte helps persuade local authorities to allow German war prisoners from a nearby camp to pick the fruit.

But when Thomas befriends one of the prisoners, a teacher named Karl, and invites him to tutor Kate, the implications of Charlotte’s decision become apparent—especially when she finds herself unexpectedly drawn to Karl. So busy are they with the prisoners that Charlotte and Thomas fail to see that Kate is becoming a young woman, with dreams and temptations of her own—including a secret romance with the son of a wealthy, war-profiteering senator. And when their beloved Ben returns home, bitter and injured, bearing an intense hatred of Germans, Charlotte’s secrets threaten to explode their world.

The Cherry Harvest: A Novel, by Lucy Sanna

Review “Sanna has adeptly interwoven details of life and hardship for many in the U.S. during this time with the very different lives of the rich who profited off the war . . . an impassioned and spirited historical romance.” (Shelf Awareness)“At times romantic, scheming, heartbreaking, and tragic, Lucy Sanna’s fiction debut takes us to an America only just receding from memory. It is a time of war, love, and passion, and in Sanna’s hands it all becomes undeniably and vividly alive.” (Christian Kiefer, author of The Animals)“A beautiful novel and a reminder that war touches every family, but never in the same way. Sanna’s engaging, unforgettable characters show how every action can resound in unimaginable consequences—and what starts out as an act of kindness might prove the most dangerous. Haunting.” (Amy Smith, author of All Roads Lead to Austen)“A delight to read. The world she created was so physically real and the characters so engaging that I was instantly drawn in . . . I read the book at one sitting...and highly recommend.” (Nancy Farmer, Newbery Honor and National Book Award-winning author of The House of the Scorpion)“The Cherry Harvest gripped me from the first sentence. It’s a vivid, compelling, and beautifully written story, by turns lyrical and savage, as the well-drawn characters, consumed by passion, fear, hope, and hatred, move inexorably toward the unexpected climax.” (Gillian Bagwell, author of The Darling Strumpet, The September Queen, and Venus in Winter)“The Cherry Harvest is not just a novel you won’t want to put down—Sanna’s insightful characters and heart-stopping plot twists make it a tale that will stay with you always.” (Antoinette May, New York Times bestselling author of The Sacred Well and Pilate's Wife)“A fine novel of life during wartime.” (San Jose Mercury News)

From the Back Cover

A powerfully sensuous and gripping debut laced with suspense, The Cherry Harvest reveals a hidden side of World War II's home front, when German POWs are put to work in a Wisconsin farm community . . . with dark and unexpected consequences

It's the summer of 1944 in Door County, Wisconsin, where even the lush cherry orchards and green lakeside farms can't escape the ravages of war. With food rationed and money scarce, the Christiansen family struggles to hold on. The family's teenage daughter, Kate, raises rabbits to save money for college, while her mother, Charlotte, barters what she can to make ends meet. Charlotte's husband, Thomas, strives to keep the orchard going while their son—along with most of the other able-bodied men—is fighting overseas. With the upcoming harvest threatened by the labor shortage, strong-willed Charlotte helps persuade local authorities to allow German war prisoners from a nearby POW camp to pick the fruit.

But when Thomas befriends one of the prisoners, a math teacher named Karl, and invites him to tutor Kate, both Charlotte and Kate are swept into a world where love, duty, and honor are not as clear-cut as they might have believed. Charlotte and Thomas fail to see that Kate is becoming a young woman, with dreams and temptations of her own. And when their beloved son, Ben, returns from the battlefield, wounded and bitter, the secrets they've all been keeping threaten to explode their world.

All the workers who would pick the cherries have been lured away by better pay to the ship building yards on Lake Michigan. The trees were not harvested the previous year and Charlotte is reduced to stealing her daughter, Kate’s rabbits just to put food on the table. The family’s credit has been suspended by the merchants in town. An option opens to prevent their ruin. The government is willing to provide German prisoners of war to the farmers. Most of the farmers are in dire straits and agree. Charlotte and her family are in a quandary. They need to save the farm but how can they use prisoners when these are the same “monsters” that their son, Ben is fighting in Germany. They finally agree and the unforeseen consequences are disastrous.I enjoyed this book. The story was intriguing. The author kept you guessing until the end. There were moral conflicts that were presented that made me ponder what I would do. I was slightly confused though, as to whose story this actually was. The author switched the story back and forth between Charlotte and Kate. Although this wasn’t confusing, I was unsure who the main character actually was.I will recommend this book to my friends and family. The story and conflicts presented are thought provoking. It is a great story

5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. gripping story on the home front, but characters need to be more sympathetic By Sarah L. Gruwell I found this novel to be the most realistic and visceral exploration of life on the American home front during WWII I’ve come across yet. The hard economic times faced by many, the fear of POWs working among the community, and the endless worry for those fighting overseas all make an appearance. Other issues like PTSD and a forbidden love affair also make suspenseful additions to the overall nail-biting story.Every character varied in their personalities, giving us many outlooks and POVs to enjoy the story through. I liked seeing through the very different eyes of Kate and Charlotte; their different generational POVs brought more dimensions to the events portrayed and storyline that I enjoyed.Yet, for all the enjoyment I got out of the different POVs, I found I actually didn’t really like any of the characters. Not really. I never really got around to caring whether Kate got to go to university or how Ben dealt with his post-war health issues or Charlotte’s relationship problems. I just didn’t really care one way or the other. It’s safe to say I wouldn’t be pursuing any of these individuals as friends or acquaintances…A good story and lovely world building makes this an enjoyable read. The characters provide for different takes on the story, yet I just didn’t like any of them as individuals. Not caring what happens to your leads makes for a strong ding against this book. Not sure if I’d recommend this one, but I think I’d check out the author’s future stuff since this was only a debut. She may approve with experience.Note: Book received for free from publisher via GoodReads FirstReads program in exchange for an honest review.

Beautiful Cover, Riveting Contents By Shirley A Jones I sat down with THE CHERRY HARVEST and wanted to keep sitting until I knew exactly what the characters were up to and where they were headed with the death grip of war shaping and shifting--shadowing--their existence. I could see, taste, and feel every emotion and scene. Thank you so much, Lucy Sanna, for the trip back in time that's timeless in its portrayal of what humans are sometimes forced to do when loyalty, longing, and unfilled dreams clash in a small town suffering from a huge global conflict.

Maggie's Kitchen Tails - Dog Treat Recipes and Puppy Tales to Love, by Rosemary Mamie Adkins, Douglas E Adkins, Martha Char Love

From the Author It is our pleasure to share Maggie's Kitchen Tails with all of you and we are very excited about donating part of the profits to organizations that help with the rescue and re-homing of abandoned and abused canines. So thank you, dear readers, for helping us in this important project. We three authors, Rosemary "Mamie",  Doug, and Martha, had a blast creating the many healthy dog food recipes for our canine family members. Of course, we had to do a lot of experimenting in order to create these recipes, so often a good sense of humor was important with some of the trial outcomes! Also, when our creations were finally perfected, they were so delicious (all from human grade and mostly organic ingredients) that we often had to keep the humans in the family from devouring them before the dogs had a chance to try them. And just to let you know, our recipes are highly researched in canine nutrition. Our book is filled with both entertaining dog stories and with recipes for dogs from treats to full meals, many of which were approved by a Veterinarian. You will find in our book some delightful puppy tales, canine first aid pages, a list of spices and food ingredients that are allowable for dogs, and resources for your dog that are handy in an emergency. We hope that you will enjoy using this book to cook for your dogs to enhance the quality and wellness of their lives. The three of us authors have worked tirelessly and studied nutrition to bring you the best possible results. Each of us have our own canine family members from years back having special nutrition and dietary needs which prepared us for this book--Martha with her grand puppy Momo with severe food allergies, and Mamie and Doug with their rescued dog Maggie Anne with her devastating need to be healthier due to her sad beginnings of abuse. A Message from authors Doug and Rosemary "Mamie" Adkins: Doug and I have had dogs in our lives that have had serious health issues from Diabetes to seizures making it mandatory to do the absolutely best for our dogs humanly possible. We lost the war for our labrador, Sandy and we vowed one day that our mission would be to rescue another dog, write a book for them and to donate funds to assist groups needing help. We set up a fundraiser program to use with any size group with hope that schools would pay more attention to issues about abuse effecting both children and animals. From this desire came our book. Excited, we were so happy to have Martha Char Love join us so we would all co-author this book together and that she would have so much to contribute from her own experiences. A Message from author Martha Char Love:I was thrilled and inspired when Mamie and Doug first asked me to co-author Maggie's Kitchen Tails with them. Back in 2011, I first began cooking for the dogs in my life when it was discovered that my Shih Tzu grand puppy, Momo, had severe food allergies. With the difficulty in finding treats that Momo could eat and not get sick, I decided to create some home cooked treats myself that would fit Momo's particular dietary needs. Of course, I first researched canine nutrition extensively and we have included much about canine nutrition in this book. It made sense to me that our pets may be having the same problems with digesting the processed foods that are in commercial canned dog food as us humans are having with human processed foods. Our bodies seemed to all be screaming for some good home cooking--both human and canine bodies alike. As a long time lover of dogs, I have joined Mamie and Doug in the writing of this book and their efforts to support canine rescue. I live in Honolulu, Hawaii, and am a retired school counselor and psychology instructor, with two published popular psychology books on gut intelligence & intuition and also a cook book of original recipes for people who are concerned about gut & heart health.

Well, to begin, it was written with much love and compassion by three of the most fervent dog lovers I have come to know and love through the pages of this production and their previous book offerings. As a team, they devoted many weeks and months in the production mode to research and create this charming recipe and story book that belongs in every pet household and as a learning curve for anyone who is contemplating the adoption of a precious furry friend. If you’re looking for nutritional information, many chuckles and just plain puppy love, this is the book for you.Throughout the entertaining pages of this delightful book, are many hints and nuggets of advice for keeping your pets healthy and happy. After all, they are a loving part of your family and deserve to be ‘treated’ as such.Learn the heartfelt values of rescuing a needy pet and you’ll never need to look elsewhere.

While the recipes are to cater to the canine palate rather than the human one, children won't get sick if they happen to share one with their four-footed pal as they might with commercial treats. Alas, my dear canine friend is no longer with me and cannot give them a taste test, but I'm sure she would have loved them. The stories are personal experiences with warmth and wit that have a direct connection in an engaging way to why the recipe that follows was developed. It's a fun read, especially for dog lovers, and is for a good cause. I loved it.—R. L. Cherry"Author of the Morg Mahoney mysteries”

The recipes are great and adventuresome in some cases, and the stories about dogs are irresistible. I was especially drawn to Maggie's Kitchen Tails because I have Celiac disease and cannot eat gluten. The authors provide gluten-free recipes in addition to vegetarian ones. This is important because sometimes your dog will get sick and you won't know what the cause or problem is. Some of these recipes can help the dog owner to avoid such a situation. We all want our pets to be healthy because they are like members of our family. We also want to give them treats which they will enjoy. This book was hard to put down. Five stars all the way.

The Widow of Zarephath’s young son, Yashar, abandons his mother to follow the prophet, Elijah, into Israel during a time of devastating drought. At Mount Carmel, when Elijah calls down fire and rain from heaven, Yashar witnesses God’s triumph over Queen Jezebel’s pagan priests. Overcome with the fear of the vengeful queen, Elijah runs away. Yashar follows the prophet but finds himself lost and alone in a foreign land until he is adopted by a stray dog. Yashar names the animal, Juttah and the once frail animal grows uncannily strong. At Jezreel, Juttah leads Yashar into Naboth’s vineyard and a new life. While the prophet, Elijah, comes out of hiding and pronounces judgment on nations and kings, Yashar works inNaboth’s vineyard and falls in love with both Naboth’s family and the art of making wine. Though he plans to grow old in the vineyard, Yashar witnesses Naboth’s brutal murder and Israel’s fall further into idolatry. Years later, when Juttah proves to be an instrument of God’s will, Yashar understands the warnings of the prophets concerning Israel and is forced to change his plans.

The story is narrated by Yashar, the young man whose life was forever changed by the prophet Elijah. Yashar and his widowed mother lived in Zarephath and provided for Elijah during the three years of drought before Elijah’s showdown with the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. This showdown marks the beginning of Yashar’s journey from his home, and ultimately, back to Zarephath many years later. The northern kingdom of Israel under the reign of King Ahab comes alive through the experiences of Yashar and Juttah, his fierce and valiant dog. Yashar is befriended by Naboth, whose vineyard King Ahab coveted, and becomes one of the family. His life is entwined with theirs as he learns the craft of wine-making, marries and has children.I caught a glimpse of what it may have been like to live in these days. The author’s chilling rendition of Queen Jezebel, his descriptions of the priests of Baal and characters such as Bidkar, the army captain who turns from Baal worship to serve the true God enriched my understanding of the biblical accounts. I found the author’s narrative to be very accurate when compared with the events of Scripture. I’ve read the book twice and would definitely recommend it.

But that's what good historical fiction supported with excellent research can do By John Wyatt Adella, the mother of the narrator, describes prophets as being “unusual.” I suppose having God speak to you would make you a bit different. (God hasn't let me in on anything yet so I am different for more organic and genetic reasons.)Cliff Keller's book, "The Ivory House-The days of Elijah" (I can't make italics here) gives us a look at the prophet Elijah and he is a bit different, indeed. The description of Elijah and the the events that makes up the story are told by young Yashar (and his God-driven dog Juttah). We are told they are fictional but they are totally believable and likable. In fact, that is what I found myself doing-believing everything I was reading was exactly how it happened. Silly me.But that's what good historical fiction supported with excellent research can do. It takes us to that time and place and we believe that is way it actually happened. Plus, "The Ivory House" is a good read and fun. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to Book 3.Anyway, thank you Mr. Keller for another enjoyable book.

Noble Warrior, by Becca M Ketelsleger

Review "Noble Warrior presents a different take on the legend of the Knights of the Round Table. Ketelsleger does away with the known characters and places surrounding the legendary knights. It's a perfect way to escape into an entertaining world filled with bravery, flawed knights, and a quest to belong against the odds. Becca Ketelsleger's novel will make readers laugh, cry, cheer, and hold their breath." Self-Publishing Review, 4 Stars"The hero of this book is the writing itself. It really pulled everything together and was one of the strongest reasons I wanted to keep reading. Ketelsleger shows great skill in writing battle scenes and amazing sword fighting descriptions, which is what we all want from a period piece like this one." - inkorkeys.com

Although the story takes place among the legends of old where kings and knights fight for power and honor, the underlying themes, emotions, and the relationships throughout resonate with the world of today. Noble is a character to which every young girl can relate.Author, Becca Ketelsleger, does an amazing job navigating the complex transition from adolescence to adulthood through the perspective of a headstrong girl in a unique set of circumstances.Despite the frequent grammatical errors, the abrupt jumps in time, and the heavy use of clichés the story stands on its own. It is sure to become a classic for young readers everywhere.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A page turner, for certain! By Camille R. Cormier Once I started reading this book, it was hard to put down. The characters - Aceline, Leonard, Teague, Aidan - all came alive and I could identify with each one. I experienced so many emotions reading the book. It made me laugh, made me sad, inspired my romantic side, and had me cheering for Nobel's bravery and physical ability to compete and win in a man's world. Definitely not a "fairy tale" in the classic sense as it contains real-life tragedy, loss, and coming to terms with life, but it still leaves one feeling that things can and do work out for the best. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a story about real people with real emotions, set in a volatile, but romantic era.

Excerpt from A Series of Lessons in Gnani Yoga: The Yoga of WisdomThe lessons which compose this volume, originally appeared in the shape of monthly lessons, the first of which was issued in October, 1906, and the twelfth in September, 1907. These lessons met with a hearty and generous response from the public, and the present volume is issued in response to the demand for the lessons in a permanent and durable form. There have been no changes made in the text. The publishers take the liberty to call the attention of the reader to the great amount of information condensed within the space given to each lesson. Students have told us that they have found it necessary to read and study each lesson carefully, in order to absorb the varied information contained within its pages. They have also stated that they have found it advisable to re-read the lessons several times, allowing an interval between each reading, and that at each re-reading they would discover information that had escaped them during the course of the previous study. This has been repeated to us so often that we feel justified in mentioning it, that other readers might avail themselves of the same course and plan of study.Following his usual custom, the writer of the lessons has declined to write a preface for this book, claiming that the lessons speak for themselves, and that those for whom they are intended will receive the message contained within them, without any prefatory talk.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Lessons on Gnani Yoga By Andrew Harrell This paperback contains 12 lessons (266 pages) on Gnani ( a Sanskrit word meaning knowledge, cognizance, wisdom also transliterated as jnana or gyana)yoga. It was first published in 1906 in Great Britain. The title page describes the work as giving the "highest yogi teachings regarding the absolute and its manifestations". By this it means the principles by which the spiritual creation, evolution, and involution of the world and us happens mentally. After reading it I would not disagree with this claim. In the text there are a lot of rational arguments for monism as a theology and philosophy. There is an explanation of the philosophical basis for the Eastern religious doctrine of karma. This is good and helpful supplimentary material for those studying the fourth chapter of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. There is a clear discussion of some of the ways spiritual creation occurs inside of all of us and each of us (the many to the one and the one to the many). I believe I have benefited by my reading and study of this book and I plan to refer back to its clear presentation of this difficult subject matter in the future. I think there is a good possibiity that if more people understood the teachings in these lessons we would all be happier.

By Godspark This is a well written book explaining the concepts behind Gnani Yoga - some you will recognize as very similar to other Yogi paths - others to be succinctly unique to Gnani. All of it very educational to the inquiring mind.

Tonja gets brutally honest about her life and her trials. It is very hard to be that transparent and I am in awe and grateful that she would publish it with the hopes of helping others. In my life learning to forgive has been monumental in my personal growth. Tonja takes forgiveness to a new level. My hope is that anyone who is struggling with forgiveness will read this and feel the hope that I felt when I read it.

She has since swum with sea lions, sharks and sea cucumbers and stood on spray-drenched cliffs over a seething sea as a seven-metre cyclonic swell surged in, shattering a shipwreck below. Sensationalist spin? No - Demelza tends to take a camera with her so she can capture and share the moment later; shipwrecks, sharks and all. Demelza now lives in Perth, Western Australia, the shark attack capital of the world. The Ocean's Gift series was her first foray into fiction, followed by the Nightmares trilogy. She swears the Mel Goes to Hell series ambushed her on a crowded train and wouldn't leave her alone. To get an email whenever Demelza releases a new title AND get a free book, sign up for her VIP newsletter at demelzacarlton.com (just copy and paste into your browser).

I felt so invested in Maria's life and needed to know what happened next. Demelza Carlton leaves a timeline throughout these mermaid books so I should have seen it coming. This story line is filled with incredible highs and paralysing lows that make it hard to put down. I read it in one sitting, making one handed drinks and giving grunts in answer to questions I probably should have paid more attention to. Thank goodness it was the weekend!Without giving away spoilers, there was a moment in which my jaw hung slackly and my heart froze. I was warned, but didn't want to believe. The character of the strong Scotsman is as appealing as ever and Maria's bungling innocence in the world of land walking humans is endearing. You won't regret diving into this mermaid series.
