By Careful shopper I am never disappointed in the quality of work Ms Rog produces, especially with this book, which was birthed out of Fire.Out of the Ashes is a beautiful story of a lovely young lady called Amelia, who is rescued by a gentleman called Nathaniel from a cruel father and a harsh life. It is a light read, filled with sweet romance and hope, showcasing God's Divine Love throughout. If you are a helpless romantic and you love happy ever afters, this one is for you. I enjoyed this book very much and I also congratulate you Ms Rog, for being the Conqueror that you are through the Grace of God.

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. One of those books that just sucked me into the storyline and wouldn’t let go! By Sarah I didn’t want to put it down. It is not a suspense story, so it wasn’t fast-paced action that kept me turning pages, but rather the characters themselves. Each had been through trials but had developed a certain determination that allowed them to come out stronger in the end.I also found the contrast between the two settings interesting. When Nathaniel finds Amelia in Green Pines, the small town was reminiscent of a typical Western small town. The contrast between Green Pines and Chicago, however, was significant. Amelia’s wonder and delight at all the big city offered made me smile.What I appreciate most from Out of the Ashes is the gentle reminder that we never know the impact of one act of kindness. What may seem small and insignificant to us could make a tremendous difference for another. If only we would be more aware of opportunities to reach out to those around us and show a little kindness.A wonderful story! Don’t miss this one…(I received a complimentary copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review. The thoughts expressed here are entirely my own.)

Historical fiction with a believable personal touch By Harold Wolf This is a truly unique historical romance in that the protagonist pair have the romance genre-required wedding taking place on the first page rather than at the end. Granted, it did take a rifle shot hole in the parson's wall to encourage the verbal "I do." So it's a romantic back-story--and a right fun one at that.This book is a story of rags-to-riches so complete and extreme that it could put Cinderella to shame. Yet it is not a fairy tale because Amelia came out of a dysfunctional family more than a century before the psychological term was coined. The 1880s was an era ruled by men, women owned by men, and their diabolical nature toward women was a given right. The rags-to-riches story by Sandi Rog is also an abuse-to-love tale. A full-blown "feel good" novel that's sure to please.The book takes place a few years after the Great Chicago Fire, but that event plays a role in the situations that bring the romantic pair together. Readers also get a bit of a historic taste of just about every land travel riding conveyance known in the 1880s. Travel so fun it almost make readers want to time travel back to that era for a bit of a journey on each.

Nimble fun book By Amazon Customer Carter Ratcliff using the voice of sexy model Fiona Mays narrates her obsession with Brenda Rawlings and the death threats that Brenda receives from Sergi Propokoff, a Russian gangster. Spotlights shine on the shallow exciting life in the fast track of supermodels. Almost makes me want to appreciate teaching in an inner city school in the South Bronx of New York City for a reality check. Fun book-keeps the pages turning.

It was great to read aloud and share stories that some of us in the family had never heard! Even for long married couples, we think this book is extremely beneficial and definitely a "fun" read. I know it was meant to be a journal, but it can be used in other ways. The suggestions are right on target, and a must read for singles and engaged couples. Actually I would say that it is not just for weddings, but also would make a great anniversary gift for yourself or friends/family!My suggestion would be to use the longer "Post-It" notes with lines on them to do your "updates" as you review your entries in the coming years. Be sure to put the date on your entries, as your notes will be even more precious to you as the years go by!It comes very well packaged, protected, and shrink wrapped to enable easy gift wrapping. It must be an inch thick, and makes an impressive gift for your loved ones of all ages. It was well worth paying the shipping fee, and arrived promptly in our mailbox! Once you get one, believe me, you will definitely want to buy more. I know we will.

By Helena Darling I bought this as a bridal shower gift for a friend, but now that it's arrived I'm thinking of keeping it for myself and buying her another one! My husband and I have been married almost 10 years and we are enjoying reading through the pages and talking about how we've handled the issues that have come up in our life together and the things we didn't really think about before we married. It's a 5x7 size book with a coil binding so you can lay it flat and use it to write notes in or use as a journal. Each page has three questions, tips, or things to consider about yourself and your partner on the left-hand side with blank, lined pages on the right. It has a lot of good advice and sweet ideas about how to build a strong relationship. Definitely a keeper!

I would categorize these stories as cozies even though there's a bit more seriousness to them. Clara Fitzgerald investigates anonymously written letters being sent to her neighbors and, as usual, is investigating a second mystery involving a possibly bribed police officer at the local station who has aided in not only destroying files but almost killing one of his own. Along the way a further character is introduced.....none other than the great detective writer herself, Agatha Christie. Of course Agatha has only written one book at this point and is still in the early stages of her career. She plays a minor background character in this book but it was fun having her there. This is a fairly quick, enjoyable read and unlike book five in the series (which I hope they have revised) this book has only one or two typos which is much appreciated.

With all of the ups and downs that life throws you,it feels amazing when feeling when you know your family has your back. The story was a bit drawn out,but it never lost the point of the story.

I appreciate this because every little penny saved counts in our economy...and especially after Christmas.This is a sweet, thought-provoking story which teaches lessons about the plight of the Negro in the not so distant past. It also teaches a valuable lesson about true and lasting love and respect for one's ancestors.I think this would be good as a reading choice for those schools and teachers who still remember the term and use the idea of BOOK REPORTS as a way of encouraging their students to read wider than simply internet and other social media items.

I did not give it higher because I thought the premise was a bit much--the entire family removing to Brussels in time of war! However, I did enjoy the behind the scenes look at this important event in world history. It was necessarily a sketchy look compared to the Heyer's novel detailing, it was too much for this genre. I generally like this author's twists and treatment of the characters.This next observation is not limited to this author, but includes the majority of those who write the what ifs and variations from the best to theworst--very few of them seem to have a firm grasp of the use of English grammar--what we learned in school. Especially the use of pronouns (I / me; him / he; her / she; and tenses, was / were, etc.) Most of the authors are well educated, even having advanced degrees. I understand typographical mistakes; heavens knows I make many--but I do proof-read carefully (and still do not catch them all.) I understand the difficulty of editing as I remember the pain-staking proofing of the book and articles I wrote that still got published with errors; but most of the mistakes I see in these books seem to stem from not knowing how pronouns are used as they are repeated frequently. Also, I think many writers do not realize that spell-check cannot tell how a word is supposed to be used, so that bear and bare; their and there; etc are frequently misused.So finally I am airing my rant--if there is a rational explanation, I would love to hear it!

It read more like a long short story than a full length novel. There was not much depth to the story, more like the difference between a movie and a written version of an author's work. I happen to prefer the greater information a book can afford to the quicker surface story of a movie. What was here was fine, excluding the occasional grammatical issue; I just wanted more.

Instead of wallowing in misery after the rejection, both characters are still participating in the world around them and being useful. Darcy actually participating in Waterloo was unique and brought a little angst to the story. I recommend this book to all JAFF readers.

A werewolf has been sent back to ancient Egypt to rescue his friend's soul. How and by whom is never made clear. Somehow in doing this, a group of particularly heinous mummies have been released from the underworld, also back into ancient Egypt where they are able to take corporeal form. Our hero Thes, and Aziza the mummy in charge keeping the other mummies incarcerated, are hunting the mummy Kufu who is hunting the Staff of Ra, to do who knows what, but probably bad stuff with it. What follows is a quasi journey through the Egyptian Book of the Dead with Egyptian deities, divine creatures and mummies causing havoc.The premise of this story is terrific and enough to keep the story through some small issues. I am assuming the copy I have is an ARC so the intermittent misspellings and other small mistakes can be forgiven. The beginning of the story is a cold opening with lots of action already having taken place before the story. It reads like it should be a second book in a series and it takes most of the book to find out most of what happened. This is an interesting way of doing it, but does cause a little frustration when all the characters know what is going on and merely hint at it at a bit at a time. I would dearly have loved to have gone into this story with a bit more background, even a prologue, explaining the backstory and a little more about werewolf clans as they don't seem to follow typical canon.That said there is much that is good about this story. As I said, the premise alone is an interesting twist. Anyone with a bit of knowledge of Egyptian lore will appreciate the modern take on it. This take on werewolves is also quite interesting. There seems to be an interesting society involved with Thes and his kin. Most of the book flowed easily. I would be interested in reading the next book just to see where it goes.4 starsI received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

By Splashes Into Books This story is essentially Raider of the Lost Ark werewolf style with mummies and time travel to Ancient Egypt, too! Now as someone who loves Egyptian Mythology (yes, I’ve wrapped children up in toilet roll pretending they were mummies!) I though this story sounded like something I’d really enjoy . . .Thes Mercer is a wimpy alpha werewolf who doesn’t like fighting, is trying to control his wolf and is on a quest to rescue the soul of his best friend Connor. To do this he’s travelled back in time to Ancient Egypt and he’s the narrator for this tale. Readers are introduced to a wide variety of characters, most of whom are based on Ancient Egyptian mythology and include such well known folk as Anubis, Sekhmet, Khufu and many others. There’s a major turf war battle going on as different gods and goddesses battle in a good v evil attempt to seize power. Deciding just who is on which side keeps life interesting as Thes and the jailer try to return mummies back to the underworld. There are also hints at romance and plenty of twists and turns as the story progresses. It is interesting to read how the character of Thes develops through the story.This is book one in a series so though many aspects are resolved, there are others still in progress. There’s plenty of action and the book does improve as the reader progresses through it but there are a few inconsistencies which detracted from events for me. The ideas for the plot were great and I suspect future novels in this series will be well worth reading as I really enjoyed ‘Kill It with Magic’ … It will be interesting to see how this continues in future tales in this series.Thanks to Sarah Canning for providing a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Sarah Canning.The synopsis intrigued me. Ancient Egypt, werewolves, and mummies? Yes this is my kind of book. But it was a let down.The idea is amazing but it wasn't executed well.What I didn't likeThere was a lot of repetition (e.g.; at the beginning where he just wakes up and keeps moaning that there is so much sand that goes on for a page, then 2 pages later "sand so much sand" ok we got the idea already)There wasn't enough character building. They didn't feel real at all and the book was written in a way where I felt we were expected to know them already. And when I was just getting used to one character another one was randomly introduced. I didn't feel attached to any of them and if I close my eyes I can't imagine them now that I have finished the book.There were places where the book dragged on then other places where the interesting parts were unfortunately rushed."The seminary, for lack of a better term, was huge. Like how football stadiums were huge. Only instead of lights and ads for soda and televisions, the walls were filled with paintings and hieroglyphics depicting Ra, and his fellow gods, fighting a huge black snake."I really didn't like the dialogue and narration it was just not my taste.There are some spelling mistakes.What I likedAs I mentioned before the idea and plot is intriguing and original but needs improvement.I liked the parts when he would change into a werewolf and kick butt.

If you are someone who wants to understand the Bible this is the Bible for you. Lots of folks READ the Bible but few understand it and are able to apply its teachings to your everyday life. If this is what you are trying to do then this is the Bible for you. Has the complete old and new testament, The life application part explains how you can apply it to your life. Just a great book! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Reluctant purchase, but I LOVE IT! By spenmar This is my first study Bible, and even when I first looked at it I was not sure I would like it. This is the BEST Bible I have ever owned. I love the study part of it, but the life application part is the real cherry on top. For a learning disabled person like myself, it is such a joy to be able to REALLY receive the full benefit of God's word.

This Bible was highly recommended to me by my Pastor. I appreciate the fact, that it is large print. The outlines of study helps and materials are phenomenal!!! The first day I picked it up,I did not want to put it down!!! I highlyrecommend this Bible, to anyone that is serious about studying the word of God and leading others to Jesus Christ!!! Within the throes of Cupid’s traps, will she finally see that her heart is touched by this handsome gentleman before these traps force them into a union?My Review: So at the beginning of each chapter we get a little journal entry from Georgiana telling her side of the story and sometimes we get some journal entries in the middle of the chapters as well. This novella had me laughing throughout the majority of it. Especially the part where Lady Catherine got attacked by one of her own birds ands it knocks her wig off. Lizzy is just a little too head strong in this novella. She repeatedly refuses Mr. Darcy's offers of marriage even when they don't have a choice but to marry because of Maria Lucas and Mrs. Jenkinson gossiping leads to scandal, both in Meryton and London. What really got me hooked into reading this book was the second paragraph where we learn that Darcy has been tied up in a boat. It made me want to read it to find out what happened.The only thing that got to me was that I can't really see Georgiana spying on her brother and Lizzy. She even at one point locks them in a walk in birdcage. However this was a delightful read. With that being said why haven't you clicked the buy button yet?

Wtih each chapter beginning with Georgiana telling about her brother and Elizabeth, giving a new perspective on the story. I was laughing and waiting in antisipation with each chapter. I still cannot understant the knot tying... but I will not explain further. A good enjoyable read!

Everything is an accident By MDenise Spoiler Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I bought this book based on the reviews and was expecting to have a few laughs, every reviewer comments on it. I was expecting Elizabeth's stubbornly rejection of Darcy's proposal. However, this Elizabeth is constantly rejecting Darcy's marriage proposal, even when he had stopped offering, even when gossip got out of hand. Then, she has a change of heart in a seconds, after a simple thought, a simple reasoning, and a comparison between the feelings felt whe Mr. Collins propose and the feelings when Darcy did, and boom! she is suddenly in love!!!This is a story of continued series of mishaps that take place everytime Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth are together. There are too many of these little accidents in the story to make it tiresome for me. Even Mr. Darcy feels that way as says it to Elizabeth himself at some point in the book."Darcy, between guffaws, said, “I fear no one would believe such stories of what all has occurred if they were not with us this last week, Miss Elizabeth.”"I agree with other reviewers about the pricing of this book, however we make the consious decision to buy it at that price, it is just the dissapointment on the expectation for a better story that makes me feel a bit cheated on it.
